Many of these intertemporal decisions have some degree of uncertainty in their temporal component. That is, delays of the future rewards are often uncertain at the time the decision is made. Hence, in order to develop sound descriptive models of risky intertemporal choice, it is crucial to understand how individuals respond to delay uncertainty in order to develop sound descriptive models of risky intertemporal choice. This disseration explores individual behvior in risky intertemporal decisions where risk is generated by the variability in the timings of rewards. The disseration consists of two essays, each of which deals with a different facet of the influence of delay uncertainty on intertemporal decisions.
