Looking at change from the perspective of the actors' assumptions and belief systems and approaching organizations as social constructions led to a cultural view of organizations and their change. The consequences and limits of a vision of organizations as cultures and of a conception of organizational change as culture change are discussed. Finally, the picture is broadened to the societal level by providing a comparative cross-cultural perspective to organizational change.
