As innovation increasingly determines competitive advantage, the internal modes of operations, ie the "organizational capabilities", of large corporations have to change. To overcome the self-generated bureaucratic sluggishness of their companies, top managers need to change their concept of structure, decision and effectiveness and engage in a process of organizational transformation.
